Ectoin is derived from highly halophilic bacteria, an amino acid derivative that exists in microorganisms, and is a cyclic amino acid. It was first discovered in 1985 as a microbial substance that exists in the salt lake of the Natron Valley (Egypt Desert) in Egypt. Under extreme conditions of high salt, high temperature, and high ultraviolet radiation, Ectoin protects halophilic bacteria from harm.
We uses synthetic biology to optimize the fermentation and purification process of Ectoin, which not only improves the purity of Ectoin, but also greatly increases the amount of cell expression.

Ectoin natural is the self-defense and survival substance of extremophilic microorgansims living in hostile environments such as deserts, salt lakes, arctic ice, the deep sea or hot springs. Ectoin was discovered in 1985, when a German scientist investigated microorganisms, which he surprisingly found in a salt lake in Wadi El Natrun (Egyptian desert)
Production process
Ectoin natural is exclusively manufactured at our China plant in Shenzhen by a biotechnological fermentation process using a specific, non-GMO strain of the halophilic bacteria Halomonas elongata. The entire process is subject to a certified quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 13485.
